Press Release: Santander Consumer Bank Expands Lease at Valad’s Copenhagen Business Park, Denmark

Santander Expands Lease at Valad’s Copenhagen Business Park, Denmark

Valad Europe, the multi-let real estate investment manager, has let 3,055 sq m of office space at Copenhagen Business Park, Denmark, to Santander Consumer Bank. The five year lease was agreed on behalf of Valad’s V+ Nordic fund.

Santander has renewed its current lease on 1,726 sq m and added an extra 1,329 sq m for a term of five years. The largest office building in Denmark with 65,000 sq m of space across seven floors of offices, with ground floor retail units and two levels of basement storage space, Copenhagen Business Park is home to over 50 occupiers including SKF Denmark, Specsavers, If Insurance, ProData Consult, Mattel and Schüco.

Located 10 minutes from the airport and close to the E20 highway and downtown Copenhagen, the Business Park has excellent links both nationally and internationally for both domestic and multinational companies.

Mikael Fogemann, Valad’s Europe’s Head of Nordics, said “We are delighted that Santander has decided to expand its presence at Copenhagen Business Park. Our team in Denmark works hard with both current and prospective tenants to find accommodation solutions that suit their business requirements. In the case of Santander, this led to the company both renewing and expanding its lease at the building. We look forward to building on this success with further lettings over the coming months.”

Bo Jakobsen, Managing Director of Santander Consumer Bank, Denmark, added: “There were a number of reasons we chose Copenhagen Business Park as our national headquarters when we entered the Danish market in 2007, including the building’s proximity to the airport and its car parking facilities. As our business has expanded, so have our space requirements and Valad has been able to tailor solutions to meet these needs. We are delighted to have our national headquarters at Copenhagen Business Park.”

Valad manages over €4 billion of assets across Europe with approximately €1 billion of assets in the Nordic region, comprising 200 properties and almost 2,000 tenants, managed by teams in Denmark, Sweden and Finland.
