CORNER BROOK — The third person charged in relation to pellet gun vandalism in Corner Brook late last summer will be going to trial on the charge in September.
Christopher Wayne Douglas Blake, 21, pleaded not guilty in March to a charge of mischief under $5,000 in relation to a damaged vehicle in the Watsons Pond Industrial Park area in August 2011.
Blake will also be going to trial on a theft under $5,000 charge and two breaches of probation when the matter is called again Sept. 27.
Two other young people, Heather Chubbs and Mark Thompson, have already pleaded guilty to similar mischief charges with Chubbs being given a conditional discharge and Thompson a suspended sentence. Both were ordered to pay restitution to the victims who had their property damaged by pellet gun shots.
The three were charged last fall.
No one has ever been charged for a series of subsequent damage caused by either pellets, BBs or marbles around Corner Brook late last fall and into the new year, after the three were charged. Chubbs has said publicly that it was neither her, nor Blake or Thompson, who was responsible for those later incidents.
