Fremont Business Parks Impacted By BART Extension to San Jose, CA

Business Parks in southern Fremont, California must go through some pain before gaining better transportation options in the Bay Area.  The long-awaited BART extension from the yet-to-be-completed Warm Springs Station is underway and will affect traffic along Mission Boulevard (South), Warren Avenue and Kato Road just off of Highway 880.

Kato Road is being grade separated from a future BART bridge and Union Pacific Railroad bridge. Kato Road will be closed for nine (9) months (starting April 30th) 2012 for major construction of the grade separation.Warren Avenue will also be grade separated from a future BART and UPRR bridges so there will be a lot of construction and detours in the area.  Click here for Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) interactive map of the project.

For details on construction see ‘trucks with dirt’ in San Jose Mercury News.
